4 Basic Soccer Skills Every Player Should Learn

If you want to be a good football player you need to do a lot of practice. There are some fundamental skills that you need to master. These skills will help you to win matches.

1. Passing

You need to learn how to pass a ball to your teammate. In order to pass the ball to someone who is nearby, you need to place position your foot at 90 degrees and then swing your leg to kick the ball. To send the ball to someone at a distance you will need to apply some force and hit the lower end of the ball.

2. Shooting

There are many ways to shoot a goal. Before shooting you should ensure that you have positioned the ball at the right position and make contact with the ball at the right angle. If you want to keep the ball lower close to the ground, then kick on the upper part of the ball and if you want to send the ball up in the air then hit the lower end of the ball.

3. Receiving pass

In order to receive a pass from your teammate, you must turn your shoulder towards the direction of the ball. If the ball is on the ground you should bend your knees and cushion the ball with your feet so that it halts. If it is coming from up in the air, you should use your chest to stop the ball.

4. Dribbling

One way of moving the ball across the field is passing and the other way is dribbling. If you have an open field without any defenders in front of you then you can use dribbling to take the ball towards the goal post.

If you are a goalkeeper you will need to learn how to save a ball from going to the net. You can use your whole body to stop it or use just your feet to kick the ball away into the field instead. As football players, you need to develop these skills in order to win matches.
